Faye Lippitt is a self-taught artist and journalist who creates through the mediums of canvas, clay and pen. Her work may be seen as an invitation to bring our community a little closer to itself through humour and circumspection.

Faye  moved to Cayman island in 2011 with her husband, Dr. Greg Lippitt who is a chiropractor at West Shore Centre. They arrived from Alberta, Canada where they raised their 6 children.  Faye says that chaos reigned when the 6 came – sometimes two by two – in a span of 8 years. To find order in that chaos, she started writing about the crazy things the kids did. She shares her stories here and in her monthly column in the Camana Bay times.

Perhaps because we live on a very small island in a very large sea, we sometimes fail to acknowledge that we are still beings of weight and responsibility. Ms. Lippitt points a finger at the world and a thumb at ourselves, using art to acknowledge the beauty and the danger to be discovered through sustained attention to our land and our sea.
